Sand gorilla
It caused some confusion – a new breed of gorilla found in Bermuda. Found by doctors from the Mountain Gorilla Veterinary Project (MGVP), when they visited the Island recently to give a lecture for the Bermuda Zoological Society, the 6ft animal was seen at Tucker’s Point, waving at the Crow Lane roundabout and, of course, on the beach. But there was some controversy - anonymous sources alleged that the gorilla was a shameless publicity stunt, and the gorilla was actually MGVP veterinarian and board member, Kim Hammond, in a gorilla suit.
