Emmy Award nominee offering free classes to dancers, teachers
Renowned dancer and choreographer Stacey Tookey, who created the Emmy Award-nominated dances for the hit TV series, 'So You Think You Can Dance', will be in Bermuda this weekend to conduct a series of master classes for dancers and teachers.
Sponsored by PartnerRe, the classes are free, and will feature intermediate and advanced level instruction in interpretive and contemporary dance from this Friday to Sunday at Bermuda High School for Girls' Jessie Vesey Centre on Richmond Road.

Canadian-born Miss Tookey has represented Canada at the Adeline Genee awards in London, and danced with Ballet British Columbia and Fusion Dance Company. She has worked on projects with Bette Midler and Madonna, and has performed in concerts with the Mia Michaels Company, R.A.W., and the Parsons Dance Project. Other performances i0nclude 'Carmen' with the Houston Grand Opera.
Miss Tookey was an original cast member for the entire five-year run of Celine Dion's show, 'A New Day', at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas. Other performances with Miss Dion include the Oprah Winfrey show, the 2004 World Music Awards, Larry King Live, CNN: A New Year's Countdown Live in Times Square, and the A&E biography of Celine Dion.
In addition to performing, Miss Tookey has taught master classes in Mexico, Italy, Argentina and throughout North America, and has been the recipient of many awards for her choreography. She is also on the faculty of West Coast Dance Explosion Dance Convention.
