with murder, a court heard yesterday.

Gregory Howard Dill, of Angle Street, has denied murdering David Riley, 33, on May 24 this year.

On the third day of his trial yesterday, the Supreme Court heard evidence from Insp. Legay Farley who was on duty at the time of Riley's death.

Insp. Farley said Dill helped Police in a reconstruction of events surrounding Mr. Riley's death and went with them to Angle Street on May 27.

The officer said Dill showed Police the direction he ran and pointed out the telephone he used to call Police.

Later Insp. Farly charged Dill, who was in Police custody, with murder. "He replied, `I'm sorry that it happened','' said Insp. Farley.

The court has already heard from Attorney General Elliott Mottley, who is prosecuting, that Riley died 12 days after being stabbed with a nine-inch-blade knife.

He said it penetrated Riley's stomach, liver and diaphragm to the lungs and severed major arteries.

Mr. Mottley added that the alleged stabbing could have followed a fight over a bottle of wine.

The trial continues today before Chief Justice Austin Ward. Archie Warner is representing Dill.
