Bermuda-based Aspen Insurance Holdings' reinsurance unit has been named "Best Global Reinsurance Company for Specialty Lines" by Reactions magazine for the second consecutive year.

Each year the readership of Reactions magazine is polled to assess which firms, deals and initiatives, as well as industry figures, have outperformed.

Aspen Re was presented with the award at a reception in New York on Tuesday.

Tom Meyer, underwriter in Aspen's specialty reinsurance team, collected the award for Aspen.

Aspen chief executive officer Chris O'Kane said: "I am particularly pleased that Aspen has been recognised with this award for two years running, as it reflects our long-standing commitment to deliver the best products and services to our clients."
