Vaughn S. Edwards, of Loyal Hill, pleaded guilty to possessing a prohibited weapon.

Insp. Peter Duffy told the court that on September 4 Police went to Palmetto Road as a result of information received. "They saw six youths standing on the concrete pavement and saw Edwards sitting away from the rest,'' Insp.

Duffy said.

"Police noticed that he was acting in an unusual manner and searched him under the misuse of drugs act. While searching him they found a black strap spiked wrist band.'' When asked what the band was used for Darrell said: "That's for breaking face.'' Duty counsel Mr. Mark Pettingill told Senior Magistrate the Wor. Will Francis that Darrell was carrying the weapon "as a means of protection.'' Mr. Francis told Darrell: "I'm going to crack down hard on people carrying offensive weapons.'' He fined Darrell $300 and ordered the band be destroyed.
