Cross country team named
the Bermuda Cross country team to compete in the CAC Cross Country Championships Lucia was announced last night. The four athletes to compete in the event, to be held a week on Sunday, will be Kavin Smith, Jay Donawa, Terrance Armstrong and Tracy Wright. The team was selected from a squad of runners put through their paces to prove their fitness in trials held last Saturday and yesterday. They will be looking to improve on last year's championships, in Costa Rica, when the Island finished seventh out of 11 countries, in a race run in temperatures of over 90 degrees.Donawa and Wright are the only survivors from last year's five-man team which also included Sheldon Thompson, Jamal Hart and Manuel Lopes, and both Donawa and Wright will have happier memories of 1997, when they helped Bermuda to third place and a bronze medal in Grenada.
