Bermudian magazine to publish first-ever survey
announced Friday they will publish Bermuda's first ever survey of the Island's insurance and reinsurance companies.
The survey, expected to include over 50 of the Island's major insurance companies, will be published in April.
"We believe there is a significant need for a single source for information on the Island's commercial insurance and reinsurance industry -- on an individual and aggregate basis,'' said Mr. Kevin Stephenson, publisher and editor of the Bermudian.
"Teaming up with chartered accountants Deloitte & Touche was a natural fit...we believe we have created a survey that seeks meaningful, yet non-invasive financial information,'' he added.
"We believe such a survey, which will be published annually and distributed at the annual Risk Insurance Management Society (RIMS) conference, will further inform world markets about the Island's burgeoning insurance industry.
It is our intention to have the survey become the primary source for current data on the Bermuda market,'' according to a release from the Bermudian.
Deloitte & Touche's role in the survey is to collect and collate the information.
Mr. Denis Mulcahy, audit manager, will head the firm's survey team.
Mr. Mulcahy came to Deloitte & Touche's Bermuda office in 1994 from the firm's New York operation.
While in New York, he worked primarily in insurance and reinsurance.
