Cellular One was forced to disconnect its high speed Internet access yesterday after officials from the Department of Telecommunications executed a search warrant and told the company it was breaching its licence by offering the service.
The high-speed Internet service was offered to customers who purchased ?the Bull? package. The search warrant was issued under section 64 of The Telecommunications Act 1986. Cellular One?s attorneys, Attride-Stirling & Woloniecki, have told the company that ?the Bull? service complies with the terms of its licence agreement.
The company plans to take legal action against the Minister of Telecommunications.
