Bermuda friendlier than New York, says Olivia
Young Observer bumped into Olivia Thomas a couple of weeks ago. She is 15 years old and turns 16 in October.Olivia is Bermudian; her father grew up here but now they live in New York. Olivia and her family came home to Bermuda for the month of July.Olivia’s hobbies include reading, blogging, soccer, enjoying swimming and the beach and of course shopping and going to the movies. In her words: “usual teenage stuff”.Olivia goes to boarding school in New Hampshire. She told us she loves to cook and journalism, so she is potentially looking at a career in food journalism. She told us that she has found Bermuda to be much more friendly than New York. In addition to everyone saying “good morning” or “good afternoon” to you, whether they know your or not, she also has noticed how friendly the bus drivers are. Over her summer holiday Olivia has been interning at the Bermuda Maritime Museum and has gone to the beach most days. Her favourite part of the day is the ferry ride.Like many teenagers today, Olivia has created a blog. The blog covers fashion, culture, music, food and travel. Please check it out at: www.radblawg.blogspot.com
