PartnerRe has named Greg Haft as head of Catastrophe, Bermuda.Mr Haft was at Alterra, now Markel, as managing director and head of US property catastrophe reinsurance.He will be reporting to Brian Secrett, head of Catastrophe Underwriting, PartnerRe said in a statement.Mr Haft will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Bermuda catastrophe team with a focus on client and broker relationships in North America.He brings with him over 18 years of industry experience. Mr Haft holds a BS Mathematics and Statistics, is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society and a Certified Cat Risk Analyst.Mr Secrett said, "Greg's strong technical skills and broad reinsurance knowledge make him a valuable addition and I would like to welcome him to PartnerRe and the Catastrophe team."
