April 23, 2012Dear Sir,There has been a lot of talk recently concerning the lack of an OBA election manifesto. Most who are pointing it out are incredibly negative regarding this matter, regardless of the history of plagiarism between the political parties. I, however, am waiting with bated breath for them to make the following public statement: “We at the OBA would love to introduce the electorate to our manifesto so that we can enlighten you to our proposed legislative changes that we believe will help shape Bermuda’s future in a positive direction. However, due to the lack of transparency in Government even we do not know the full extent of the problems facing the financial and social fabric of our Island. We hope that you elect us so that we may finally gain access to our financial records and pinpoint where we can actually make a difference. Many within Government decry us for our “doom and gloom”, but we are worried that should we win this year’s election, it will take our entire first term just to “stop the rot” and get Bermuda’s head above water again”.They say that honesty is the best policy, and I can’t think of any other reason they’re holding out for so long!ALEXWarwick
