Investigate and prosecute

February 18 2012Dear Sir,Having read a 12 page submission called “Bermuda: Corruption in Paradise”. Am I to believe that nothing can be done? That no one can investigate these misdeeds, and if prima facie evidence is found, lay before a Judge an indictment of misdeed, so that the perpetrators of those misdeeds cannot get away without it having to face a judge and jury? The fact that the Auditor General asked for statements from the Government to verify certain declarations of expenditure and these were not forthcoming after many many requests. Surely after a period of time, this must be considered an offence and should be pursued by the law? If this Government asked me for verification of my status as a citizen of this Island, and I could not and would not produce that proof, I would be pursued by the Government to respond or face a penalty and rightly so, even asked to leave. Wake up Bermuda, get real. Get proof and do your duty.DIANA WILLIAMSPembroke
