Shots fired on 42nd Street

Residents of 42nd Street reported hearing gunshots last night on the first anniversary of the murder of Kenwandee Robinson.

Neighbours said they heard five to six shots fired at around 12.20 a.m.

This morning Police officers were seen retrieving shells near the corner of St. Monica's Road (42nd Street) and Glebe Road.

A Police spokesperson said officers were called to the scene last night shortly after 12.20 a.m. and maintained a "high profile" presence in the area for at least an hour after.

Officers returned to the neighbourhood around 6.30 a.m. today when they determined a firearm had been discharged. There were no reports of any injuries.

Kenwandee (Wheels) Robinson, 27, was killed on the afternoon of May 22, 2009, as two men on a motorcycle drove along St. Monica's Road firing bullets as they passed.
