PLP vows to target Devonshire East seat

Devonshire East has traditionally been a United Bermuda Party seat, but the Progressive Labour Party has already stated its intention to pinch it at the next General Election.

Shadow Finance Minister Bob Richards defeated the PLP's Neville Tyrrell by 402 votes to 375 in December 2007.

This marked a huge transformation from four years earlier, when the UBP's Michael Dunkley beat Mr. Tyrrell by 498 votes to 284.

The PLP has vowed to aggressively target the seat at the next election, but Mr. Richards has declared he has no intention to switch seats; he says his face is now better known in the constituency than it was three years ago and believes he can make it a UBP stronghold once again.
