UBP to form a Foundation to honour its legacy, members
The United Bermuda Party will form a UBP Foundation just in time for their 45th anniversary.
It will be presented at the party's annual general meeting on December 15 by Leader Kim Swan.
The foundation will be administered by a Board of Trustees who will oversee the new initiative.
Mr. Swan said: "The mandate of the foundation will be to tell the story of the United Bermuda Party, to pay homage to the legacy of the United Bermuda Party and celebrate the contributions of past Leaders, Cabinet Ministers, Parliamentarians, Chairmen, Senators, members and all who served Bermuda and the party with distinction.
"Telling the UBP story is necessary because it is a story of progressive change in our society over many years, change that made Bermuda a better place to live for all its citizens through expanding education opportunities, growing and spreading prosperity, economic stability, the emergence of the black middle class and the nurturing of international business as a second pillar to the economy."
