BSX declines 52%

The Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) dropped 52.64 points (2.6 percent) during the first week of January.

The Index hit 2,019.77, with 194,893 shares worth BD$746,860.55 and 161 shares worth US$1,859.55 traded.

Among the biggest movers and shakers were Argus Group Holdings Ltd., which fell 50 cents (5.55 percent) to $8.50, with 4,800 shares changing hands, and KeyTech Ltd., which was down 45 cents (fiver percent) at $8.55, as 700 shares were transacted.

Butterfield Bank's common shares also declined 15 cents (3.84 percent) to $3.75, with 87,293 shares traded.

But BF&M Ltd. climbed 25 cents (1.66 percent) to $15.30, with 2,100 shares changing hands, and LOM (Holdings) Ltd. rose five cents (1.49 percent) to $3.40, as 100,000 shares were transacted.

The BSX Insurance Index, however, was up 0.04 points at 962.06.
