Banks busy on BSX

Banking was the place to be on the Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) yesterday, with both Butterfield Bank and Bermuda Commercial Bank Ltd. (BCB) trading a combined total of almost 2,000 shares.
Butterfield Bank transacted 1,300 common shares and 117 preference shares, but both of their share prices held firm.
BCB also saw 500 shares change hands to open and close at $5.10.
The only other trader was BF&M Ltd., with 25 shares. Its share value also remained unchanged at $15.05.
Overall, the Index was the same at 2,077.18, with 1,825 shares worth BD$8,122.50 and 7,339 shares worth US$235,628 traded.
The BSX Insurance Index, however, dropped 10.68 points (1.08 percent) to 972.66.
