Insurers kept busy

Insurance proved to be the busiest sector on the Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) yesterday.BF&M Ltd. rose 75 cents (five percent) to $15.80, with 6,500 shares traded, while Argus Group Holdings Ltd. slipped 90 cents (9.5 percent) to $8.60, as 1,000 shares changed hands.Elsewhere Bermuda Press (Holdings) Ltd. dropped 23.8 percent ($2.85) to $9.15, with 300 shares transacted.

Insurance proved to be the busiest sector on the Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) yesterday.

BF&M Ltd. rose 75 cents (five percent) to $15.80, with 6,500 shares traded, while Argus Group Holdings Ltd. slipped 90 cents (9.5 percent) to $8.60, as 1,000 shares changed hands.

Elsewhere Bermuda Press (Holdings) Ltd. dropped 23.8 percent ($2.85) to $9.15, with 300 shares transacted.

Butterfield Bank's commons shares, however, climbed 10 cents (2.6 percent) to $4, as 38,350 shares were traded. The bank also saw five preference shares change hands, but the share price held firm at $1,230.

Overall the Index fell 12.76 points (0.62 percent) to 2,043.29, with 46,150 shares worth BD$263,382.50 and five shares worth US$6,267.22 transacted.

The BSX Insurance Index was also down 6.67 points (0.68 percent) at 963.38.
