The Ascendant Group Ltd. failed to live up to its name as its share price fell by 35 cents (2.28 percent) to $15 on The Bermuda Stock Exchange Index (BSX) yesterday.

The utilities company traded 11,900 shares throughout the day.

Butterfield Bank's common shares, however, rose 10 cents (2.22 percent) to $4.60, with 3,350 shares changing hands.

The bank also transacted 21 preference shares.

Overall, the Index increased by 11.08 points (0.51 percent) to 2,195.59, with 15,250 shares worth $193,870 traded.

The BSX Insurance Index slipped 2.5 points (0.28 percent) to 880.86.
