St.David's call boycott meeting
St. David's County Cricket Club's management and executives will be holding a meeting tonight for their members and cricket fans across the Island regarding their boycotting of the 2010 Eastern County Cup Series.
The club have organised a press conference to be held at the club, starting at 7 p.m.
The meeting will discuss topics such as the circumstances of the boycott decision, the club's reaction to the Eastern County ruling, and the Eastern County Cricket Association's (ECCA) disregard of constitutional protocol. The row between St. David's and the ECCA stems from the association's decision to give Bailey's Bay this year's series, for the second successive year running, with St. David's scheduled to host the summer spectacle.
Defending champions, St. David's, were scheduled to play this weekend against Cleveland County but the decision to boycott means that Cleveland will be champions and begin their defence on August 14 against Flatts at Sea Breeze Oval.
