Police probe two serious accidents
Two people were treated at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital on Saturday after suffering injuries in separate collisions.
One remains in hospital and is in stable condition while the other has been discharged.
Police attended a collision around 8 p.m. on Bob's Valley Lane in Sandys involving a car and a motorcycle.
The car appeared to have exited a private driveway and the motorcycle was travelling east on the same road, when the rider of the cycle, a 21-year-old Sandys man, lost control and the vehicles collided.
The 21-year-old sustained a wound to his head and abrasion to his left hand. He was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance where was treated and later released.
The driver of the car, a 43-year-old Sandys man, was unhurt.
Both vehicles received relatively minor damage. It appears that the motorcycle rider's helmet was not fastened at the time of the collision.
At around 9.50 p.m., Police attended another road traffic collision on Spanish Point Road, Pembroke near the junction of Cove Point Lane, involving a motorcycle and a car.
The car was travelling east on Spanish Point Road and the motorcycle was travelling in the opposite direction when the rider, an 18-year-old Devonshire man, attempted to overtake another westbound car and collided with the eastbound car.
The diver, of the car, a 46-year-old Devonshire man, was not injured.
The rider of the cycle sustained a broken right arm and abrasions. He was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment and is currently on a general ward in stable condition.
Both vehicles received moderate front end damage.
