Regiment to open its doors for a fun day on July 10
Ever wondered what being in The Bermuda Regiment was really like? Members of the public can get a taste of military life on July 10, as the Regiment hosts a fun training day at Warwick Camp.
People can take part in a number of group challenges including drill, command tasks, abseiling, assault course, orienteering and volleyball. Event Organiser Captain Dwight Robinson, said: "The aim of the day is to allow willing members of the public an opportunity to experience some aspects of military training in a challenging, but less-arduous environment.
"So whether you are parent, an employer who is simply curious, or somebody who relishes a new challenge the Fun Day will give a brief glimpse into the types of training and opportunities available to our young men and women who currently serve."
Captain Robinson continued: "As the Regiment prepares itself for the Presentation of Colours parade in November it wishes to demonstrate to the public the pride it takes in doing what it does for the service, safety and security of Bermuda and the international community, and that there is just cause in our training: critical thinking, endurance, team work, development of moral courage and integrity."
Participation is open to all members of the public and will start on July 10 at 7 a.m.
The entry fee is $25 per person and the deadline for registration is July 5.
