Pedestrian injured in cycle crash

A motorcycle struck a pedestrian near the junction of Workmen's Lane in Hamilton Parish.

Police were called to the scene at 6.45 p.m. on Monday.

A spokesperson said a 68 year-old was struck by a 22-year-old Hamilton Parish woman on a motorcycle as he attempted to cross the street. According to the spokesperson, a car in the eastbound lane stopped to allow the man to cross. The woman, who was heading west, struck the man.

Both parties were taken via ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital. The man is currently in stable condition at the hospital's Intensive Care Unit.

Van fire put out early yesterday

A van was found engulfed in flames around 1.20 a.m. Tuesday, on Horseshoe Road, Southampton and extinguished by the Fire Service.
