NEW YORK (Bloomberg) - MF Global Ltd., the world's largest broker of exchange-traded futures contracts, named Bernard Dan as its global chief operating officer.

Mr. Dan, former head of the Chicago Board of Trade, will oversee operations in more than a dozen countries, replacing deputy CEO Christopher Smith, the Bermuda-based company said today in a statement. Mr. Dan, 48, joined MF Global in June 2008 as chief operating officer for North America.
