Hemp focuses on positives

Bermuda batsman David Hemp believes there were plenty of positives to come out of the recent Americas Championship, despite their failure to successfully defend their title.

The former Glamorgan skipper highlighted the performances of players such as Glenn Blakeney and Lionel Cann as reasons to be confident about the future.

"I thought the tour went well except obviously the defeat to the USA," Hemp said.

"We didn't achieve the goal set of retaining the America's Cup but we played some good cricket with some good performances from several squad members at various times."

An opener for much of his career, Hemp batted at six in Florida, and scored a total of 140 runs in his three innings

"I think that my own personal performances on this trip were certainly helped by the platform set by the players batting above me.

"There were some very good performances from Lionel Cann at the top of the order all week. Glen Blakeney scored a very good hundred after coming back from injury and Delyone Borden took six wickets in a match."

The Bermuda Cricket Board (BCB) have announced the squad that will travel to Argentina for an 11-day tour later this month with some new faces being included.

The tour will run from December 10 to the 21st with the squad playing four One Day Internationals and three 20/20 matches.

Bermuda Squad: Irving Romaine, Rodney Trott, Chris Douglas, Glenn Blakeney, Justin Pitcher, Kyle Hodsoll, Oronde Bascome, Tamauri Tucker, Delyone Borden, Jordan DeSilva, Terryn Fray, Kevon Fubler, Regino Smith, Machai Campbell, Fiqre Crockwell.
