Premier Ewart Brown yesterday extended congratulations to British Open champion Louis Oosthuizen who has now booked his place in this year's PGA Grand Slam of Golf at Port Royal.

Brown said: "We are thrilled that Louis has claimed this prestigious title. The conditions at St. Andrews proved to be a very challenging this year and his seven-stroke victory was one of the most impressive in a major championship.

"He displayed true championship form and we look forward to welcoming him at this year's Grand Slam of Golf."

Oosthuizen joins Masters Champion Phil Mickelson and US Open winner Graeme McDowell, both of whom have already qualified for the Slam.

The fourth member of the Slam will be decided at the PGA Championship to be played between August 12-15 at Sheboygan in Wisconsin.
