The Department of Labour and Training will host its Employment Act 2000 presentation event today to provide employers with a better understanding of the Act.

The event will be held in the EF Gordon Memorial Hall at the Bermuda Industrial Union, starting at 5.30 p.m.

A spokesperson for the Ministry said it had been moved from the original venue, the Department of Labour, to accommodate overwhelming demand.

"The presentation will provide a functional understanding of the Employment Act 2000, with the goal of assisting employers in making better decisions when it comes to dealing with matters in the workplace," Labour Minister David Burch said.

"We are hopeful that this will result in better decision making which benefits the employer and the employee."

The Department said yesterday there was still some space available for today's seminar.
