Social Inquiry Report ordered for man who had cannabis
A man was caught with four wraps of cannabis by Police on patrol in Front Street.
Michael Clemens was found with 4.83 grams of the drug as officers searched him on another unrelated matter, on October 22.
Clemens, 31, of Pembroke, pleaded guilty to possession of cannabis in Magistrates' Court on Thursday.
Crown counsel Carrington Mahoney said: "Police made a search of his person and found a clear plastic bag containing four wrapped plastic twists."
As they placed him under caution, Clemens told officers: "I am in trouble now. The Magistrate told me not to come back to court."
Clemens told the court he was short of money as he broke his arm last summer.
He said: "It's only recently I've been able to start looking for work again. I'm trying to make a painting job for myself, but I haven't really had any money at all."
Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo ordered a Social Inquiry Report and adjourned sentencing until September 10. Clemens was granted bail at $3,000.
