Chill out time It's cold as temperature dips to 50F
Expect record low temperatures today and tomorrow as a cold front bites the Island.
It will plummet to a chilly 50 degrees both days, beating the previous records for these particular days of 54.1 for March 24, set in 1997, and 53.0 for March 25, set in 1967.
Bermuda Weather Service yesterday said a lot of cold air has hit the Island from the northwest over the past week, with the coldest air of the season due to arrive today.
There will also be a risk of thunder and hail today and, although the weather will gradually improve for the rest of the week, the cold front will remain until the weekend.
Yesterday was slightly cool for the time of year, with temperatures of about 63 degrees around noon.
Meteorologist Nick Camizzi told The Royal Gazette: "This is below normal, we're getting more cold than normal. We do seem to be in a bit of a chilly pattern.
"Tuesday and Wednesday will get the worst of it, but it doesn't look like we will really break out of it until the weekend.
"We're coming out of the winter season now; usually April starts to improve, although there will still be a lot of rain."
