Eight arrested on impaired driving

Eight people were arrested on suspicion of impaired driving over the weekend.

According to Police there were also six burglaries and 12 damage-only road collisions reported over that period.

As well, there were seven reported road traffic collisions resulting in injury and eight vehicles taken without their owners' consent.

Three injured as car collides with pole

A car collided with a utility pole in a single-vehicle accident on Harbour Road in Paget.

The driver of the car, a 36-year-old Warwick man, and his 32-year-old female passenger from Devonshire, sustained minor head injuries.

A second passenger, a nine-year-old Devonshire boy, received a cut to his left leg, according to Police.

The accident happened around 3 p.m. on Sunday near the junction with Manse Road as the jeep travelled west. The car received extensive front-end damage.

A spokesperson said no further Police action is anticipated at this time.
