Woman robbed at Front Street grocery store
A 47-year-old Pembroke woman was robbed while using an ATM machine at the The Supermart in Hamilton.
According to a Police spokesperson, the event happened before 1.15 p.m. on Sunday at the grocery store on Front Street.
The victim, a 47-year-old Pembroke woman said she was at the machine when a stranger approached her brandishing a bladed article.
The robber, a 46-year-old Pembroke man, demanded money and left on foot with a quantity of cash.
He was later arrested by Police outside Docksiders Pub and Restaurant; the money was also recovered. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
12 vehicles taken without owner's consent
A total of 12 vehicles were taken without their owner's consent over the weekend, Police report. In addition there were 11 reported road traffic collisions resulting in injury and another 11 that were damage-only collisions. In addition, there were two people arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and two reported burglaries.
Elderly driver hospitalised after accident
A 78-year-old Sandys parish woman involved in a single vehicle collision, was sent to hospital after complaining of chest pains.
The passenger of the car also reported pain in her chest; but neither appeared to be injured. They were both taken to King Edward Memorial VII Memorial Hospital for further examination.
The incident happened sometime around 8.40 p.m. on Sunday at the junction of Middle Road and Riviera Road in Southampton.
It appears the car was travelling west on Middle Road when the driver lost control of the car and collided with bushes along the roadside.
Cyclist breaks both ankles after hitting utility pole
A 23-year-old Pembroke man injured his head, after his cycle collided with a utility pole on Middle Road in Devonshire.
The man also broke both of his ankles during the collision and needed to be rushed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital by ambulance.
The incident happened at 12.15 a.m. yesterday (Monday) at the junction of Middle Road and Parsons Lane, when it appears the man, who was travelling east on Middle Road, lost control of his motorcycle and collided with a pole and trees.
His motorcycle was also extensively damaged. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
