NEW YORK (AP) — It will cost another $37.5 million to deconstruct a contaminated skyscraper at New York's ground zero.
The Lower Manhattan Development Corp. has allocated the money for the former Deutsche Bank tower just south of the World Trade Center site.
Work was halted at the building for several months after two firefighters were killed there last summer.
A spokesman for the LMDC says the money will be shifted from federal funds awarded to the agency to repair utilities around the trade center site.
Mike Murphy, the spokesman, said on Friday the money has been allocated to the Deutsche Bank project so that the work can be completed without further delay.
