a roadside near the Mid Ocean Golf Course in Hamilton Parish.

And they are appealing to anyone who may have seen the woman in the area around 6.30 p.m.

Police spokeswoman Sgt. Roseanda Jones said the woman, described as about 40, five-foot-six to five-foot-eight of slim build with brown, shoulder-length hair, was wearing running gear when she was found on the South Road, just west of Paynters Road.

"At the moment it is unclear as to how she received the injuries,'' Sgt.

Jones said. "But she's in very poor condition in the Intensive Care Unit.'' Police are particularly appealing for the driver of a white car, believed to have been in the area at the time, to come forward.
