yesterday morning of a West Indian who was severely beaten in a fight in Pembroke two weeks ago.

Stanley Barnett, 35, died of his injuries early yesterday morning in the Intensive Care Unit of the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

A post-mortem examination will be conducted. The findings, which will be the subject of the investigation, will eventually be forwarded to the Coroner.

Barnett and a 31-year-old Hamilton Parish man were admitted to hospital with head injuries following a fight on Happy Valley Road on February 10.

Blunt instruments were used in the fracas, which involved several people. The other man was treated and later released.

Three men have been helping Police with their inquireis, and arrests are expected to be made soon.

Police spokesman Sgt. John Dale said yesterday he wished to reassure Barnett's family and the community that Police "are doing everything possible to see that the case is brought to justice''.
