Police are investigating the incident in which the cruise ship passengers from New York were sitting on the deserted beach at 5 a.m.

They were approached by two men wielding a machete and a stick. They threatened the couple and then grabbed a purse containing $60 and ran away.

Police say that the victims, both in their 20s, were not hurt during their ordeal.

The first thief was described as six feet tall, wearing no shirt and short jeans. The other man was about five feet, nine inches and wore a tee shirt and jeans.
