PLP leader Mr. Frederick Wade said policy statements during the election campaign would have to be made in writing. This would rule out telephone interviews on policy matters.

Mr. Wade said the move was designed to avoid misquotes or misunderstanding.

"Shadow Ministers would deal with their respective portfolios and make every effort to cooperate with the media and ensure their questions are dealt with as quickly as possible. All candidates are free to talk to the media about constituency matters and their campaign activities.''
