sentenced to six months in prison after appearing in Magistrates' Court yesterday.

Cyril Tucker, 51, pleaded guilty to the charge on July 14 and was sentenced by Senior Magistrate the Wor. Will Francis yesterday after he received a social inquiry report on Tucker.

Last week, the court was told by Police prosecutor Sgt. Peter Giles that between July 6-7 a Panasonic radio was taken from the hospital's boiler room.

The radio, which had the initials of its owner inscribed on it, was valued at $350.

The man reported the theft and gave Police a description of Tucker. On July 13, Police driving along Middle Road in Devonshire spotted Tucker carrying the radio. They checked the radio and found that it belonged to the hospital's boiler room technician.

The court also heard that Tucker had a history of stealing from St. Brendan's.

At the time of his arrest, Tucker was under a 12-month suspended prison sentence.
