Pearman grabs half-way lead
firing a second successive 77 to draw three strokes clear of his nearest rival, overnight co-leader Cornell Bean.
Veteran Frankie Rabain, who had shared the first round lead with Pearman and Bean, slipped six shots back with a disappointing 83.
Gale force winds again made conditions difficult, particularly on holes eight, 15 and 16 overlooking the South Shore. "It was brutal,'' said Rabain. "The wind was really blowing. I think everybody struggled on those holes.'' Pearman's 77 gave him a 36-hole total of 154, three clear of Bean who carded an 80 for a 157 total.
Rabain is tied for third on 160 with Darriek Douglas who shot the day's low round of 75, 10 shots better than his opening 85.
The tournament continues at Port Royal today and tomorrow.
