Hypnotist to cast Island under his spell
spell next month.
"Fernandez'' will put on three shows at the Clayhouse Inn on July 3, 4, and 5.
And he said the purpose of his performances was to make people laugh.
Fernandez can hypnotise audience members to believe that they are stars like Madonna, Michael Jackson or Elvis Presley.
He told the Island News in Key West, Florida: "The show is only as good as the people who volunteer.'' But he claimed that he could not hypnotise anyone to do something against their own morals.
Earlier this year Fernandez told the The Newspaper, based in Key West: "If you've never seen a seal, I can't make you act like one. And I can't make you do something you might be morally opposed to, like robbing a bank.'' He explained that hypnosis bypassed the brain's conscious barrier to enter the subconscious which makes up 90 percent of the mind.
Fernanadez was born in Havana, Cuba and learned magic from his father who was also a recognized hypnotist.
But in his early twenties Fernandez, studied under Canadian hypnotist and psychic researcher Alan Spraggett.
Fernandez began performing in nightclubs, theaters, casinos and cruise ships around the world when his career took off.
And he has starred with well-known celebrities such as Liberace, Jerry Lewis, Bob Hope, John Candy and Dan Ackroyd.
