separate packets of cannabis.

But despite his guilty plea to possession, 32-year-old Dill told Magistrates' Court that the drugs were not his.

His excuse, however, wasn't accepted by Acting Senior Magistrate the Wor. John Judge who imposed a $100 fine.

Prosecutor Sgt. Peter Giles said that Police had spotted Dill and a group of other people sitting in and around the rear of his mini van outside a store in Roberts Avenue, Devonshire.

The officers carried out a search of Dill but found nothing, but when they searched his van they found an envelope containing a plant-like substance.

They impounded the vehicle and after another search found another envelope containing similar material.

Dill, of Glebe Road, Pembroke, pleaded guilty to possession but said: "The stuff was not mine. It must have been left by the people sitting in the van at the time. I had no prior knowledge of this.''
