Roger Sherratt, secretary for the Corporation of Hamilton, yesterday confirmed that the Atlantic Jazz Band -- which formerly visited the Island twice as the US Air Jazz Band -- would not return this week due to a potential conflict with the Bermuda Jazz Festival.

And there was no option to postpone the show because of flight booking difficulties.

Mr. Sherratt expressed regret at the first cancellation in six years, but said the Corporation was already working to secure the band's return next summer.

He also went on to announce a November 15 concert showcasing local talent will be held to coincide with the World Conference of Mayors.
