'Course it's a horse!
glimpse into the world of the horse will be on view -- and on sale -- in Bermuda for the next week.
Well-known American sculptor Phyllis Allen Eifert, whose bronzes and drawings have received awards in New York, as well as in the "hunting country'' of Pennsylvania and her native Virginia, will be on hand for a special exhibition for invited guests at Government House at the weekend. From Monday onwards, the general public can visit the show at the National Trust headquarters at Waterville, Paget. Part proceeds from sales of this limited edition series of 14 bronzes are to be donated to the National Trust.
An accomplished horse woman herself, Ms Eifert has combined her considerable artistic talent with a complementary career of raising ponies. An active hunter, she currently rides with the Tryon Hounds and the Greenville County Hounds in North Carolina.
The series is entitled "The Chronicle of the Horse'' and highlights the time-worm traditions of that rarefied world.
The Eifert bronzes will be on display from Monday, March 17 through Friday March 21, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
