Total Marketing and Communications has announced that Henry W. Adderley has recently been appointed marketing associate - client services.

Mr. Adderley is responsible for public & media relations and management, client relationships, marketing planning, copywriting and account management.

Mr. Adderley was formerly Assistant Editor at The Royal Gazette and spent more than seven years with the newspaper.

A spokesperson for Total Marketing said: "Henry's high energy, hands-on professionalism will enhance businesses' public relations strategies and build editorial credibility, through visibility for people, products, and companies."

Bermuda-based Hampton Re Limited, the life and annuity reinsurer, has appointed Craig Wolff as chief marketing officer for the group. Mr. Wolff has more than 30 years of experience in life insurance and reinsurance.

Prior to joining Hampton Re, Wolff was a reinsurance account executive at GE's Employers Reinsurance Corporation.

A Bermuda Stock Exchange-listed mutual fund has been forced to suspend trading because of the national strike in Venezuela.

A BSX statement said that the national strike in Venezuela "has paralysed the country since December 2, 2002 with nearly all economic activity at a standstill and not many people working including (Nordhavn Fund Corporation's) investment manager and administrator, auditors and the property valuers who would normally be instructed to assess the value of the assets of the company".

As a result, the directors of the Nordhavn Fund Corporation have temporarily suspended the calculation of the Net Asset Value of the Class A Shares of the Fund as at December 31, 2002 and trading of the shares has been suspended.

Arch Insurance Group, the US based insurance arm of Bermuda's Arch Capital Group, has beefed up its marine insurance segment by purchasing CNA Financial Corporation's hull and liability insurance business for ocean-going vessels in both London and the US.

The sale will be effective for all covered policies with renewal dates of February 1, 2003 issued by the Continental Insurance Company, a CNA subsidiary.
