the Bermuda Martial Arts Society Banquet, held at Kiskadee's Restaurant on Saturday night, are (from left to right): Mrs. Selina King (accepting for husband Sensei Terry King), Sensei Vernon Simons, Sensei Kristina Ingham and Sensei Skipper Ingham.
The banquet, the first ever by the Society to honour those who have made an impact in the sport, attracted a large turn-out. On hand to make the presentations was Sports Minister Pamela Gordon. Highlight of the evening was the presentation of cedar plaques to those cited for long service in the local martial arts community. These were Sensei Skipper Ingham and Sensei Kristina Ingham of Bermuda Karate Institute (25 years), Sensei Tery King of Bermuda Uechi-Goju (24 years) and Sensei Vernon Simons of Bermuda Shotokan Karatedo (25 years).
