introduction of Paper Saver deskside bins.

The 10,000 bins are to be distributed free of charge to any business that wants to help Bermuda's environmental campaign.

Government waste management expert, Mr. Dan Hoornweg, this week presented the first bin to Works and Engineering Minister, the Hon. Clarence Terceira.

And Government employees will lead the way by using the first bins in their offices.

The bins are designed to make separating re-usable paper from other office waste convenient and are expected to be a key ingredient in a comprehensive office recycling programme.

Only white paper can be collected. Coloured paper must be processed differently.

Businesses in Hamilton can use the recently instituted collection service for recyclable materials.

Recyclables packed in translucent blue bags are picked up every Tuesday and Friday evening. More than 30 businesses already use the service.

The bags are available from Bermuda Wholesalers.
