Pearman leaves today for world cup in Florida

with Kim Swan in representing Bermuda in the World Cup which takes place from November 11-14 at Lake Nona in Orlando.

Pearman, set to take part in his third World Cup, will team up with Swan who recently placed 40th at the Jamaican Open and is currently competing in the Continental Open in Florida.

The pair will participate in a 32-nation field that includes powers England and the United States, who have Fred Couples and Davis Love III seeking to defend their title, as well as other lesser knowns like Fiji and the Republic of Korea.

Other big individual names slated to appear at the event boasting a pot of $1.2 purse are world number one Nick Faldo, Wales' Ian Woosnam and Bernhard Langer of Germany.

Joint ninth at the recent Bermuda Open, Pearman said that he was just looking to play well and would be satisfied with four rounds of par or better.

Pearman is arriving a week early so as to take the time to practice a bit and further fine tune his game.

"I'm hitting the ball okay right now, but I haven't been in many competitions so I don't really know where my game is,'' he said. "I've been concentrating on my short game and getting it back. It has always been the best part of my game, but this year it hasn't been as good as usual.'' Positioning of teams are determined by the total scores after each round.
