guilty in Magistrates' Court to stealing a purse and destroying a car window.

Police prosecutor Sgt. Phil Taylor said Police saw David L. Cox, 47, of Glebe Road, running west on Front Street at 8.05 a.m. on October 25. They stopped Cox in connection with a car that was broken into just minutes earlier on the same street.

Cox was arrested and taken to Hamilton Police Station where he was questioned under caution.

Charged with unlawfully destroying a car window and stealing, Cox admitted he smashed the window of a white Peugeot and stole a purse that was on the front seat.

MURDER ACCUSED CALLED UP MUR Murder accused called up A man currently in Police custody facing a murder charge could find himself in further trouble with the law -- after failing to report to Warwick Camp for military service.

Justis Raham Smith, 18, was called up on October 8 for a medical and enlistment.

But he has been in Police custody for more than a year and is still awaiting trial after being charged with the premeditated murder of Canadian teenager Rebecca Middleton. A trial date has yet to be fixed.

Enlistment Officer Richard Gibbons said: "This must have been an oversight but we will correct it straight away.''
