Hurricane season in Bermuda is from June 1 through November 30. The three categories of tropical disturbance which may threaten Bermuda during this

Tropical Depression -- sustained winds of 33 knots (38 mph) or less.Tropical Storm -- sustained winds of 34 to 63 knots (39-72 mph).

Tropical Depression -- sustained winds of 33 knots (38 mph) or less.

Tropical Storm -- sustained winds of 34 to 63 knots (39-72 mph).

Hurricane -- sustained winds of 64 knots (73 mph) or greater.

When a tropical storm or hurricane is approaching, the Emergency Measures Organisation will issue the following: Tropical Storm/Hurricane Watch -- Winds of force within 36 hours.

Tropical Storm/Hurricane Warning -- Winds of force within 24 hours.

FOLLOW THE STORM -- Use this map for tracking hurricanes this season from June 1 to November 30. Most hurricanes occur in August, September and October. As tropical storms and hurricanes move, you can track their progress by using the latitude and longitude coordinates issued by the Bermuda Weather Service.
