Making a will to provide
But if trying to decide how to provide for your family after death is a unpleasant task fear not, help is on the way.
On March 1, Sun Life of Canada and local estate planning lawyers will join forces to hold `Make a Will Week', a first for Bermuda.
Sun Life manager, Kenneth Spurling said the seminars will feature lawyers providing advice on the advantages and obligations of a will.
Taxation due to poor will content, how to correctly name beneficiaries in a will and important points regarding naming of beneficiaries and trustees will also be covered in the seminars.
A question and answer period will be held following the formal portion of each free seminar.
The two-hour information seminars will be held twice a day throughout the week of March 1.
The first seminar starts at noon, Monday to Friday, while the second starts at 5 p.m. Monday to Thursday.
Mr. Spurling urged anyone interested in attending the workshops to call the Sun Life Office, at 292-0640, to reserve a space for the seminar of their choice.
The seminars will be held at the Chamber of Commerce, The Bermuda Insurance Institute and the Sun Life Office in Hamilton.
