Neiko Burchall, of Top Square, tried to steal the alcohol from Shelly Bay MarketPlace on August 31, but was stopped by a security guard.

Burchall first appeared in court two weeks ago and said he stole it because he "felt like getting drunk''. But the 18-year-old told Senior Magistrate, the Wor. Will Francis, that he did not have a drinking problem.

Mr. Francis gave him a conditional discharge after reading a social inquiry report.
